I had a Mantel at my old house, and was always fretting with what to put up there. I seems that it is just the hardest part of the house for me to decorate. I remember when my sister-in-law was having the same problem, and we both just settled for less is better. You don't want your mantel to look cluttered, so keep it really simple.
A mirror and a plant, or vase of flowers is perfect. Nice to look at, yet very simple and clean

A punch of Red
Red is such a bold color, and adding a punch of it to any room will do wonders! It's kind of like yellow in the sense that it will brighten up any room.
These red lamps are just what this space needed! They add the perfect pop!
I wonder where I can get a rug like this? It would be perfect for my bedroom! I love the bedspread paired with the rug. Fabulous!
So soft, and romantic...
This room could be overwhelming, but I like the way that it is done. The wall art brings a cool element to the room.

My new Dining Table!
I have been wanting a nice, tall, dark dining table with stools for a REALLY long time. I have always had an oak round table that I had in my childhood, and it was just time to say good bye to that old thing. This table I got on Craigslist for a steal! I am really stoked on it, and I think that it goes a lot better with the rest of my furniture. I also love the fact that it is square, because I have the option of putting it up against a wall if I want, and the stools are easily pushed under the table to allow for more room and walking space in the small living room.
Place-mats
Everything Coastal
Ever since I got my new dining table, I have been thinking about place-mats and coasters non-stop! I have been looking around to find something that is going to compliment the rest of my house, and be fun and exciting as well. These are all great table settings and place-mats that have made me continue to dream.

Imagine Fabrics
Although I have found some that I really like, I think that I am going to stick with just making my own place-mats. They are just too easy to make, and I can personalize it! In my living room, I am sticking with a color scheme of Brown, Green, and Blue- a dark chocolate brown, and variations of green and blue. Here are some fun fabrics that I have seen that I think would be cute for a mat...
I am in love with Paisley!
The nice thing about doing mats, is they are pretty small, so I am able to go with a more busy pattern than I normally would because there is less of it. I like the idea of making an impact on the table, because it one of the first things that you see when you walk into my house.
Or, I can keep it more simple, and bold... So many options!

My Carved Shelves
Remember these?
I FINALLY got them up on the wall where they deserve to be! I had an original plan for them, but then re-arranged my living room and they were put in a totally different home. I am really happy with them! Can't believe how cheap they were....
They are flanking the window in my living room. This one is on the left, next to my desk (which is under the mirror). Im super stoked cause I found this mirror at Homegoods and was completely in love with it, then I went to Ross weeks later and found the smaller one that is identical! SCORE!
This shelf is up on the right side of the window, next to the door. A perfect spot for the keys, and a plant!
On a side note, I got this at a Goodwill for $1.50, and I really love it! You can't really tell, but the branches are dark brown, and have brown pearls strewn about them. I put it in this vase I already had, used some rocks to hold it up, then stuck it on a glass tray and it looks perfect under the shelf! It was just the pizzaz that wall needed.
