Spring Vignettes

My goodness, I got hit with something knarly, cause I have been out sick for 7 days! I am finally feeling better today, and was able to get out of the house and stick to my normal schedule- which was much appreciated. And I am happy to say, I am back to the blogging world as well!

I'm sure that most of you are like me and ready for spring to come along and sweep us off our feet. If you are living anywhere that has gotten hit with massive amounts of snow, I know this longing for Spring rings familiar to you!
I thought I would share some adorable Spring themed vignettes to spread some inspiration. Enjoy!

DIY Glass Bubble Art

I have been really needing to do something crafty every day for the past week or so to help calm me down... Yesterday was my sisters birthday- she would have been 24, but was killed by a drunk driver almost 4 years ago. Needless to say- it's been a rough last week. I miss her like crazy and I started to feel myself fall into a dark hole. I just get into a funk where I'm sad and angry all the time and think about nothing but that terrible night. Anyways, one thing that I have found that helps me stay out of that funk is keeping busy, inspired, and creative. I have just picked up random things to keep my mind rolling, and it really has worked. Her actual birthday yesterday was really hard for me, but it was only one day- not a couple weeks which is progress already.

That being said, here is another little project I just did that I wanted to share with you all

Glass Bubble Art

I have this one little box that a candle came in, but I kept it cause I really like the look of it. I was able to take a piece of the top off, scan it, and then print it out again.

I used these glass stones from the Dollar Store, traced them onto the paper, cut it out, and glued it onto the stones, then onto fabric and into a frame. Super easy, and I am stoked on the way it turned out.

White Vignette

Nothing like a couple of sweet little vignette pics to keep a girl happy, and inspired...

White Vignettes with a winter feel (mostly)

Decor Allure
Love the window! I like how this entry looks almost like a fireplace mantel. Adorable

Flickr
I love the white branches in the pitcher, and the twig wreath in the back. A great way to bring the beauty of nature inside- even in the barest months.

Star Shine Chic
The mirror and bottles are perfect together!

Song Bird is Nesting
The queen of Vignettes! Truly! This is more spring, but I couldn't help throw it in here. The single tulip or pair in each bottle is sweet. Serene...

Song Bird is Nesting
I like the pop of color, and the tiny stack of driftwood pieces. Even though this is almost all white, there are bits of texture all around- making it more rich

Timeless. Simple. Love.

Fingerprints on the Fridge
Sidebar from the winter vibe- I thought I would throw this in here too. I'm not one for Valentines day, and actually strongly dislike the holiday. And its not because I am a bitter, single girl (no offense to those who are) I just think its a ridiculous "holiday". That and I actually really can't stand the colors. Red, pink, purple, and white- a little too fru-fru for me personally. That being said, I actually really enjoyed this sweet little set up. Not too much pink, and the turquoise is a nice off set color. Not to mention the pic of the couple is super cute!

Sweet Vignettes

Been working on my "Vignette skills" lately, and have found that it is harder than it seems! I always seem to get tired of the ones that I set up, and feel the need to change them more often than I should. I set off for some inspiration, and have been hard at work the past couple days around my own house- practicing.

Here are some that I especially loved and was inspired by...

The Happy Home
I adore this sweet set up. I love the frame especially and the pop of color with the flowers.

Purple, lime green, and teal- my favorite combo! These little vases are just adorable!

Peacock Feathers
This girl knows how to work it! I look through pics of her home, and instantly want to do mine all over again. She has such a great eclectic, colorful style that I find extremely inspiring. I think she is especially talented at creating Vignettes.

Flikr
I always love the idea of covering books. This is a very sweet set up, and I love the clean, Asian feel. So crisp and comfortable!

Perfect. All the things put together make me want to travel...

I love the lamps! The fish vase is a super adorable touch

Bright, simple, and earthy. I like the look of the plant on a tall stack of books as oppose to a short stack.

Clutter is probably my biggest pet peeve. I just can't handle it. If most of the things in this pic were different colors, it would look cluttered- but they are all white and blue, so they look stunning all together and clutter free. Stashing that info away mentally...

Just a couple of small sweet things put together to make a sweet set up. Love the use of the boxes! It adds the perfect amount of depth and height.

Do you have any tips on how to create a sweet, simple vignette? What kinds of things do you like to use? Would love to hear some feedback!

Owl Vignette

Not too sure why, but I am drawn to owls a lot lately, and found out that I am not alone! I was doing a little digging, and "research" (aka looking at pretty pictures) around Vignette's and some inspirations for doing them because I am not feeling super inspired by the things that I have around my house. When we moved into this small place, I felt the need to get rid of anything that I didn't love or use often, and as a result, I have little to work with now.

Anyways, I was feeling super inspired by a cute little owl statue that I saw at Ross (think I might need to go back for one) and this is what transpired...

Did you notice this owl pic in the background a few pics ago?

Decor Pad
I like the white ceramic owls! This short fat one is adorable, and looks cute paired with the taller skinny one.

Peacock Feathers
*She really loves the owls! And has a fabulous collection of things in her home. You really should check it out*

Hey now, Woah now
Hey there little guy! (on the left)

What an interesting table/shelf! The owl tray above is too cute for words...
